The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Employee Ownership Association are currently organising the first national Employee Ownership Day, to be held on 4th July 2013. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of employee ownership as an economically strong and balanced business model. It will serve to showcase the wide range of successful employee ownership models, including the pioneering work of the Cabinet Office in promoting public service mutuals. The day will feature numerous regional “open house” events at, and ministerial visits to, employee owned businesses.
Skye Instruments Ltd will be actively partaking in this event by opening its doors to the general public, government officials, intermediaries and other local business groups with the aim of promoting and improving understanding of employee ownership. Businesses who have illustrated an interest of transitioning to an employee ownership model in the near future should definitely show a keen interest in this day as it aims to reaffirm and strengthen relationships with existing employee owned businesses, championing them as exemplars of the employee ownership model.
A full schedule of events will be published closer to the date so if you’re interested please keep an eye out on our website.
