The founders of Skye Instruments Ltd, John & Gill Wilde, have decided to transfer ownership of the Company to the Employees. This has meant the setting up of a Trust Company, Skye Instruments Employee Benefit Trustee Ltd and a Trust Deed, Employee Benefit Trust deed. The transfer will take a few years to complete, ie when 100% of the shares are held in the Trust. But the Company is, to all intents and purposes, Employee-Owned now and is operating as such.

The Department of Business, Innovation & Skills set up an implementation group on employee ownership in response to the Nuttall review. It oversees developing and implementing the recommendations of the Review.
