The Light Meter for Photovoltaics includes a Pyranometer sensor and Display Meter. The Pyranometer measures total global solar radiation which is displayed on the Meter in units of
watt per square metre (W m ). -2
This measurement is ideal for use when installing and commissioning solar panels. The sensor is fully cosine corrected, meaning it measures the incoming light from the whole hemisphere of the sky above it, regardless of the sun angle. When taking measurements it is advisable to place the sensor at the same angle as the solar panel, so that the light falling on the sensor is equivalent to that falling on the panel.
Solar Panel Installations are an expensive capital investment. Our system is an inexpensive accessory for either solar panel users or solar panel manufacturers/installers. Users can keep a check on the output of their panels & any deterioration. Installers can ensure that the panels are at the optimum angle for maximum light.
