Light Sensors and Systems

Skye Instruments have been designing and manufacturing light sensors and systems since 1983, and have developed a strong specialisation in this field. All sensors have fully traceable calibrations to National Standards (UK NPL or WMO) for wavelengths between UV (280 nm) and SWIR (2400 nm).

MiniMet Automatic Weather Station

The Skye MiniMet is a robust, easy to operate, automatic weather station with a choice of up to 16 sensors. Accurate, calibrated yet low cost means it is suitable for research, industry and amateur meteorologists alike. It can be portable or permanently fixed, with a choice of power supply and communication options to suit.

Light Sensors and Radiometers

The range of calibrated light and radiation sensors include PAR, Red-Far Red, Solar Radiation, UV and Lux, plus 2 and 4 channel Radiometers with a custom choice of wavebands between 400 nm and 2400 nm. Calibrated bands to match Earth Observation satellite sensors are a Skye speciality.

Environmental Sensors

Environmental and meteorological sensors are available with Skye dataloggers and meters, or for connection to other dataloggers or industrial controllers. A wide variety of outputs are offered to suit most applications.

SpectroSense2 Meter

The multichannel SpectroSense2 meter range for Light sensors and Radiometers has options for display, logging and GPS mapping. It offers ratios between channels, e.g. Red / Far-Red ratio,Vegetation Index calculations, e.g. NDVI, and solar energy integration in MJ.day-1

DataHog2 Datalogger

The DataHog2 logger has been especially designed for accurate measurement of the small current output from light sensor photodiodes. It also has standard voltage and counter channels for the addition of other sensors, up to a total of 16. It is a small, weatherproof, self contained device which can be used at the centre of an AWS or other logging system. Relay outputs are optional for control applications.

Helios Mini System

Designed specifically for in situ, crop microclimate monitoring, the Helios Mini is a compact logger and sensors in one unit. Measuring up to 4 parameters from RH, air temperature, soil temperature, leaf wetness and rainfall, it can also be used as a low cost, mini weather station.
